Why Buy Flies From Aries Tackle

    Aries Tackle is a company that originated from the love of the sport of fly fishing by our owner, Jeff Bower. Long before the multitudes of "shops on the Net", Aries Tackle has been producing high quality products to those that know, for over 20 years. There are less expensive flies available on the Net, in fact, there are literally millions of less expensive flies around. This is by design and it becomes very clear that these other flies are inexpensive for a reason. When you consider where they come from, such as Thailand, Central America or India, it doesn't take much to figure out that labor cost are miniscule. The materials used are low quality and non-uniform. Obviously this results in a very poor ability to provide a good product consistently. Not to mention the quality of the hook that they may use. This alone is a major issue with Mr. Bower. How often do you get that chance to hook up with what you would consider a trophy fish for yourself, only to have the hook straighten out or even break. Or, even before you get that chance, the fly is falling apart. Jeff is committed to the fly itself. With his experience, he knows that the fly is the most important part of any fisherman's equipment. The rest of your gear can be varied, with none of it playing such an important role as the fly's ability to fool a fish to strike. Everything else has it's purpose of playing and landing that fish, but the quality of the fly is the key to get it all started. Aries Tackle is committed to providing you quality. This is something that is stressed here constantly.

    We use quality materials on our flies and rely on our suppliers to provide us with the best. If and when we reject some batches, these materials are returned and we would assume that they will then be sold to someone else. This does not happen much anymore as our suppliers know that we will not tolerate less quality. Our hook selection is just as tight. We use American Made, Eagle Claw hooks. Eagle Claw has been concentrating on fly hooks since the 1920's. Fly hooks were their first concern and product. They have proven to be the best for strength and penetration. Balance is key to a fly's performance. When it comes to our Salmon and Steelhead customers, whether they are in the Great Lakes area or the West Coast States, or the customers fishing the big Browns in the White River in Arkansas or the Snake River in Idaho. They have commented on our hook quality, time and time again.
